Your Specific Responsibilities:
Description: The Senior Clerk is an independent position that performs a variety of front desk activities requiring knowledge and skills in interviewing clients, eligibility, preparing client information. Following a planned orientation to a generalized community to a dental health program, work is performed in all settings of the Leon County Health Department. The Senior Clerk performs a variety of activities requiring knowledge and skills in interviewing clients and ascertaining eligibility, preparing all client information and dental forms necessary for recording of clinic findings, filing, and retrieving information as necessary. The senior clerk is the first contact for all persons requesting information or services provided by Leon County Health Department. Greets clients and interviews then to ascertain needs. Ensures completion of client information. Determines services needed, Responsible for verifying insurance and Inputs eligibility information into computers to create patient chart. Answers multi line phone system, Responsible for checking in patients. Able to multitask and works well independently.
Responsibilities:Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Greets clients and obtains necessary information from clients to establish eligibility for our dental clinic. Accurately enters information into the HMS system. Uses a variety of computer programs such as Eagle soft, Practice Mojo, Dental Symphony and FLMMIS which is used to assist in obtaining insurance information.
+ Works with all front desk staff to answer phones and make appointments in a timely manner.
+ Responsible for completing and sending out broken appointment letters to patients.
+ Responsible for adjusting patient schedule as needed due to staff changes or call outs.
+ Maintains a neat, organized clerical workspace.
+ Reads emails daily to ensure dental clinic communication is received.
+ Responds to public records request for information. By copy, email or in person following Federal and State rules on confidentiality.
+ Participate in in-service and staff development programs related to job performance. Attends staff meetings and other related in-services to keep current on pertinent rules, regulations, and procedures.
+ Participates in DOH activities.
+ Performs other related duties as required by the supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of principles and practices used to perform procedures. Ability to understand verbal and written instructions. Ability to communicates effectively and to maintain effective working relationships.
Qualifications:
1 or more years of dental experience preferred.
