Job SummaryWith a patient centered culture, the Flow Coordinator will provide a positive experience to our patients by coordinating surgical care to the patients we serve. This role will serve to provide and oversee the total patient experience, lead efforts to improve efficiency in Surgical Services to ensure a seamless flow. Coordinate with the CNC in the OR and Surgicare along with the Director of Surgical Services to maximize productivity while directing and assisting staff in case turnovers. Lead and evaluate the completion of the pre-op check list to ensure that cases move back in a timely manner. Case planning, coordination with SPD, vendors, and providers.
ResponsibilitiesOutcomes Identification The flow coordinator will review monthly reports (FCOTS, Turn Over Time, Delays) Participate in PI Projects.PlanningThe Flow Coordinator will round in the afternoon to ensure that ORs are restocked, and equipment is available for next day cases and after-hours cases. Will direct staff when needed. Streamline processes with SPD. Will attend scheduling huddles and monthly Leadership Meetings. ImplementationThe flow coordinator will review the OR schedule 2-3 days prior to and collaborate with the Inventory Manager and Vendors to ensure supplies and appropriate support is available. EvaluationThe flow coordinator will conduct a monthly evaluation of preference cards alongside the Lead Orthopedic RN or Tech to ensure updates are made in a timely manner. Quality and Performance ImprovementThe role coordinates patient flow and leads performance improvement initiatives within the department. This role will lead and track activities to ensure all quality and efficiency benchmarks are met to improve quality patient outcomes. The coordinator will identify and assist with streamlining care.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesHeavy Work- Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly.Minimum of 1 year OR experience.
