SUMMARY: Processes daily customer orders for release to distribution center with the goal of maximizing fill rate and shipping within customer required parameters. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receives and reviews daily EDI orders for the purpose of resolving and correcting any issues (price, put up, quantities, item numbers, credit, and payment terms) that may prevent the order from transmitting properly.
- Reviews and enters customer orders for non-EDI customers. Verifies that price, put up, payment terms, item numbers, and credit are valid.
- Enters bulk orders for the purpose of reserving stock for eventual customer order.
- Accesses customers' web-based portals/hubs to download order detail and process information.
- Communicates information from customers and our system to the Accounting Department for credit card and credit transactions.
- Reviews orders for stock availability and communicates with appropriate personnel to resolve any shortages (Sales, Operations, Planning, Logistics, etc.).
- Releases orders to the distribution centers in accordance with the specific routing guidelines for each customer and in support of internal and external on-time shipping requirements. Communicates with DC personnel as necessary.
- Executes cancellations and back orders according to disposition of shortages.
- Initiates customer substitution requests to the distribution centers as directed by management.
- Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
- Familiarity with standard planning concepts, practices and procedures.
- Intermediate level of computer skills required, specifically working knowledge of MS Office, Excel and mainframe systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Must have strong attention to detail.
- Requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
