Description US:NV:Carson City Operating Room Part Time Variable Shift About Carson Tahoe Health CTH is a not-for-profit healthcare system with 240 licensed acute care beds, fully accredited by the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality (CIHQ). We serve a population of over 250,000 and feature two hospitals, two urgent cares, an emergent care center, outpatient services and a provider network with 19 regional locations. Summary The orderly functions as a supporting member of the surgical services team by performing various tasks which include environmental maintenance, assistance with material management, pre and post procedure cleaning, assistance with patient care under the direction of a registered nurse and a variety of other duties. Responsibilities Transport patients within the facility, ensuring patients' safety Assist in transferring patients from bed to stretcher, stretcher to OR table, etc. Assist with operating room turnovers including sweeping, mopping, dusting, disinfecting and gathering linens and other surgical equipment Clean anesthesia machines and change circuits between cases. Run machine checks as directed. Daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of designated areas as assigned. Gather and set up equipment for cases, clean, breakdown, and store equipment after cases. Assists with routine care, maintenance, and troubleshooting of designated equipment and devices Ensure all three peri operative departments are properly stocked with materials and equipment Assists with limited patient care in the operating, recovery, and procedure rooms as needed, specified, and directed under the supervision of a registered nurse. Scrub into total joint surgeries and hold limbs/rectractors as needed Stat transport of time sensitive specimens to lab or pathology Clean gurneys in pre op and PACU Assists with periop operative documentation such as outdates and temperatue/humidity logs Ensure gas cylinders are functional, full and available Ensure equipment rooms are organized and stocked Assist central sterile processing Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of and compliance with safety policies and procedures, recognizes safety hazards, and initiate appropriate corrective and/or preventative measure Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Required Required American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers within 90 days of employment Preferred Previous medical field experience Top 5 Reasons to Live in Carson City, Nevada Live, work and play in one of the most beautiful regions in the world Enjoy an array of outdoor activities world class skiing, golf, camping, mountain biking, hiking, water skiing, kayaking, hunting and fishing Just next door is Beautiful Lake Tahoe We are minutes from Reno known as the 'biggest little city in the world' - Fine dining, nightlife, shopping and home to the University of Nevada Reno.
