Sugarbug is currently looking for Orthodontic Assistants to join our practice.Sugarbug is seeking a Orthodontic Assistant to work alongside our Dr.'s to provide high quality orthodontic treatment for children, teens and adults. This position requires dedication to the delivery of quality oral health care in a caring and compassionate nature and commitment to becoming an integral part of Sugarbug's orthodontic team. If you are interested in joining an established and growing practice with a long tenured support team, joining Sugarbug Orthodontics is a great opportunity for you.Duties include but not limited to the following:Patient ManagementGreet patientsSet up treatment rooms for proceduresEscort patients to treatment roomSeat patients in treatment roomsShow care and concern, and help patients feel comfortableObtain and review health histories according to office protocolEnsure patients are always attendedAnticipate and assist dentist's needsPerform functions and tasks as assigned by the dentistMix dental materialsEnsure patients' questions are answered thoroughly before they leaveChart patients records, service rendered and any chargesEscort patients from the treatment room to treatment coordinationEnsure proper treatment notes are recorded in patient's chartPerform clinical procedures as practice act allows and as directed by dentistMonitor patient flowTreatment Room Management and SterilizationKeep dental units ready, stocked and cleanOversee cleanliness of the treatment room according to sterilization proceduresDisinfect treatment rooms according to OSHA regulationsSterilize all instruments and handpieces according to OSHA regulationsKeep trays, instruments and treatment room drawers organizedEnsure that office sterilization procedures document is on displayPromptly send out and monitor all dental laboratory casesImplement the preventative maintenance/cleaning schedule for dental equipmentFollow laboratory procedures according to office protocolTake intraoral impressions for all non-prosthodontic appliances.Take facebow transfers and bite registrations.Place and remove rubber dams or other isolation devices.Perform measurements for the purposes of orthodontic treatment.Cure restorative or orthodontic materials in operative site with a light-curing device.Examine orthodontic appliances.Place and remove orthodontic separators.Remove and Place ligature ties and archwires.After adjustment by the dentist, examine and seat removable orthodontic appliances and deliver care instructions to the patient.ExperienceCoursework in dental assisting and proceduresCompliance with state dental practice requirements (i.e., X-ray requirements, OSHA training)InterpersonalGood interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, other staff members and communityEffective verbal skills to communicate with patients and staffWe offer a complete benefit package along with a positive work environment and an opportunity for growth.Job Type: Full-time-Compensation (31-54k yearly range based on hourly pay) based on Experience, Licensing and Education
