The Orthopedic Surgery Center Administrator will oversee and manage all aspects of the new joint venture between Deaconess Health System (DHS) and Orthopedic Associates (OA). The Administrator will independently lead the daily operations, manage staff, and report directly to the joint venture board. A high level leader with operating room and orthopedics experience is needed. This partnership leverages the combined strengths of DHS and OA to expand orthopedic care in southern Indiana. Phase 1 of the orthopedic expansion plan has been completed. The Administrator will assist in Phase II development that is currently in the early stages of planning and construction for a stand alone facility.The OrthoPrime Surgery Center Administrator will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and controlling all aspects of the operating functions, processes, and staff of the facility.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Develop/implement entity specific policies and procedures affecting daily operations.
- Develops appropriate working relationships with the Governing Board, Partners, Medical Staff, Departmental leaders, and NSH, facility staff, patients, and family members.
- Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate activities of clinical and business operations of the facility.
- Direct, monitor, and evaluate activities to ensure professional medical/nursing care for each patient.
- Develop, direct, evaluate, and administer financial, administrative, and personnel policy, procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Provide direction for evaluation of all facility programs and committee activities, including but not limited to the Quality Management Improvement, Risk Management, Safety, Infection Control, and delegate responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
- Coordination of the provision and control of materials, supplies, and equipment with the Director of Supply.
- Coordination of activity within the O.R. suite
- Interviews, hires, counsels, and evaluates direct reports in an effective and timely manner.
- Monitor/review appropriate scheduling/staffing activities of patients, physicians, and personnel to ensure quality of services and cost effectiveness.
- Develop/monitor guidelines and standards for assuring compliance with state licensure, CMS, federal regulations (OSHA, CLIA, etc.) and accreditation.
- Oversee the activities of recruiting, selection, supervision, and counseling of personnel.
- Perform other administrative duties as delegated or assigned by the Board.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESDirect reports: Registered Nurses, Certified Surgical Technologists, Front Desk Receptionists, Patient Care Techs, Radiologic TechnologistsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR SKILLSBachelor's degree in Nursing or Management, advanced degree (MSN/MBA) preferred. A minimum of four years supervisory/management experience.
- Healthcare administration and surgical services experience required.
- Knowledge of State, Federal and Accrediting Body regulations and standards related to healthcare.
- Must be able to perform in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to multitask
- Excellent communication skills and work habits, including the ability to communicate with a broad range of people from patients, staff, physicians and board members.
