About The PositionJob Title: Physician AssistantJob Specialty: Surgery - OrthopedicJob Duration: 13 weeksShift: Days 4x10 or 5x8 hour shifts with call expectation of one night per week and every third weekendGuaranteed Hours: Not specifiedExperience: Minimum years of experience not specifiedLicense: Oregon license highly preferredCertifications: Board Certified requiredMust-Have:- Availability for full-time work- Meets criteria for Medical Staff or Allied Health Professional membership and privileges- NPDB Self query at the time of submission- CAQH login and password at the time of offerJob Description:- Prepare and record patient history, develop and implement a care plan in collaboration with the attending physician.- Participate in daily rounds, document pertinent symptoms, findings, diagnoses, and care plans.- Utilize electronic medical records for order entry and documentation.- Participate in multidisciplinary rounding, respond to coding and documentation queries, and engage in quality and safety initiatives.- Order or perform diagnostic studies such as EMG, electrocardiograms, compartment pressure measurements, x-ray examinations, CT, MRI, and bone scans.- Perform procedures including digital blocks, regional anesthesia, minor outpatient surgical procedures, tendon repair, wound closure, debridement, incision and drainage, needle biopsy, percutaneous pinning of fractures, k-wire removal, and hardware removal.- Execute diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as joint and bursa aspirations, closed reduction of fractures and dislocations, joint and tendon injections, and brace, cast, and splint applications.- Assist in surgery, including first assist, tissue closures, application of appliances, and other actions as delegated by the surgeon.- Conduct hospital rounds, write orders, and assist the orthopedic surgeon.- Serve as primary orthopedic call for patients in the Emergency Department and various inpatient units.- Participate in call coverage, including regular weekday, weekend, holiday, and night call rotation.- Evaluate and clarify clinical conditions, formulate and implement treatment plans, and dictate discharge summaries, histories, and physicals.- Demonstrate proficiency with electronic health records for documentation, assessment, and care management.- Ability to work independently and perform effectively in stressful or emergent situations.Note: This position requires a minimum credentialing timeframe of 60 days. The role includes 4 hours of unpaid EPIC training with the option to test out in 2 hours. Lodging will be provided/coordinated.1594446EXPPLAT
