LocumJobsOnline is working with Cynet Locums to find a qualified Other NP in Wisconsin!About The Position**Job Title:** Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber**Job Specialty:** Nurse Practitioner**Job Duration:** 13 Weeks**Shift:** Day - 4x8 - 7am - 3pm, 32 Hours**Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified**Experience:** Not specified**License:** Must have an active WI License upon submission**Certifications:** Not specified**Must-Have:** Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber**Job Description:**- Provide comprehensive health care to well and ill incarcerated adults and adolescents following state laws, policies, procedures, and practice guidelines.- Conduct comprehensive health histories and physical assessments.- Assess psychosocial, cognitive, and functional strengths and limitations to develop and incorporate appropriate interventions.- Establish medical diagnoses for acute, chronic, and potential health problems, monitor, evaluate, and manage follow-up care.- Prescribe, regulate, and monitor medications, order and evaluate diagnostic studies, and perform and monitor therapeutic procedures.- Document findings in health records.- Consult directly with the collaborating physician for care exceeding scope of practice based on education, training, expertise, or agreements with the physician.- Collaborate with unit staff to develop medical/nursing care plans for patients with special care needs.- Facilitate continuity of inmate health care between other correctional institutions and outside health care providers.- Accept temporary assignments in other correctional institutions during staff shortages or emergencies.- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, hazard-free environment in the Health Service Unit and identify health hazards in the institution.- Collaborate with medical staff and health services management to organize and coordinate specialty clinics, such as seizures, hypertension, asthma, and diabetes management.- Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive patient education programs ensuring quality and appropriateness of care across settings.- Participate in developing and teaching educational programs about medical/nursing and health care in the institution.- Serve as a preceptor for students.- Consult with team members in developing interdisciplinary program plans.- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Infection Control, Employee Health, and Public Health Educator in health care training/education for staff and inmates.- Participate in or initiate quality assessment and improvement activities.- Identify important aspects of care to improve practice and operations.- Evaluate medical/nursing care quality through direct observation in collaboration with Medical Director, Director of Nursing, Unit Physician, Health Service Unit Manager, or Quality Assurance Coordinator.- Gather information to substantiate the need for new or changed policies, routines, procedures, or equipment.- Work with medical staff and nurses to develop or revise institution procedures.- Contribute to developing improved health care programs and medical/nursing services.- Promote a safe environment for inmates and staff, preventing illness/injury and promoting optimal health.- Utilize information from studies/research to evaluate practice effectiveness and identify health care needs.- Initiate medical/nursing research related to clinical practice.- Assist staff in conducting research to improve medical/nursing care practices and delivery.- Develop specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities through formal coursework, independent study, research, committee participation, and clinical experience.- Participate in committees, in-service, and education programs offered by various agencies and providers.- Stay current in nursing theory and practice.1594437EXPPLATJob RequirementsRequired for Onboarding
