**Outbound Dock Registrar & Warehouse Supervisor**

The Outbound Dock Registrar & Warehouse Supervisor is an integral part of the inventory and auction process, ensuring that all relevant information about each work is accurately cross-referenced at the time of release from our care and control, and safe storage and maintenance of property in the warehouse is maintained. The successful candidate will have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize numerous concurrent projects, and schedule collections, coordinate across departments, and handle a wide array of works of art including various types of paintings, furniture, luxury objects, and decorative arts.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

* Review, photograph, and ensure proper release of property upon its release to document and verify logistical attributes, including piece count, pre-existing conditions, etc.

* Coordinate outbound collections of property with Sothebys Shipping department, Sothebys clients collecting in person, and third-party shipping companies

* Maintain the integrity of the Operational procedures and comply with Risk Management/Security Department requirements

* Delegate tasks to a team of art handlers for moving, installing, and handling property

* Act as communication liaison between specialist departments and property handlers, directing property to the appropriate location for storage, collection, and viewings

* Verify outbound paperwork is accurate and reflects scheduled property movements

* Maintain paperwork and records for audit purposes: reporting any discrepancies to the appropriate colleague (Inventory Manager, Risk Management, etc.)

* Maintain and upload all outbound paperwork to an internal database for external audits and internal reference

* Work with Registrar team and Manager of Property Transfers to coordinate transfer of property both for sale and for collection

* Work with manager to improve overall process efficiencies and reduce waste

**IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES**

* Bachelors degree

* Minimum 2 years Registrar/collections management experience a plus

* Warehouse management experience a plus

* General overall knowledge of the fine and decorative arts

* Excellent attention to detail

* A team player who works with other colleagues to complete tasks and activities

* Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of people

* Superior organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks with speed and efficiency

* Excellent time management skills in a fast-paced environment

* Flexibility to work overtime and weekend hours when necessary
