Position Summary:The Workforce Outcome Specialist WIOA coaches youth participants to empower them to achieve at their highest potential to secure employment and begin a career in a defined employment sector. The Workforce Outcome Collection Specialist is tasked with the career and education coaching aspect of participants that are enrolled in Workforce Sector Based programs and services. This position also provides data and systems management for participant outcome tracking.This person will report to and work closely with the Director of Employer Engagement and Workforce team to increase and diversify placement opportunities for all the workforce development programs serving young adults ages 16-24 and working age 18+. The Outcomes Collection Specialist will support the strategic program plan for mapping, researching, prospecting and securing sector based prospects and lead support all relevant partner engagement.They must be able to adapt to a fast-paced, continually evolving environment and thrive in a collaborative and team-oriented workplace. They must possess a strong passion for the fight to rise above poverty and the motivation to enact real change in an innovative and dynamic organization.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide Direct Client Services / Career Coaching Navigation Services
  • Determine appropriate service plans, coach clients on employment and training issues.
  • Assist all program participants in identifying career interests and declare an industry path (i.e. building services/construction, healthcare, logistics, etc.)
  • Coordinate all aspects of documenting and securing approval for all voucher funding, and supportive services.
  • Submit monthly reports for all Sector based training services, contract deliverables and prepare contract status reports and audits with proper documentation.
  • Understand the workforce programs, including industries, companies, projects, company contacts and which market strategies can be used to attract clients.
  • Use strong interpersonal and relationship building skills to develop and maintain partnerships with program graduates & key stakeholders related to the growth and success of the program.
  • Collect all required paperwork, administer all testing, and maintain accurate and complete files.
  • Work collaboratively with Employment/Training, Support Services and Director of Employer Engagement to collect info, provide input, insight and support job placement for program completers and community members.
  • Support completion worksite pre-assessments to ensure worksites meet all DYCD protocols.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience assisting in providing career coaching and counseling, job matching and working in the field of youth workforce development.
  • A previous knowledge of sector-based work strongly preferred.
  • Associates degree preferred, High School Diploma/Equivalent required.
  • Experience with capturing, logging and interpreting data is required. Excellent analytical thinking, judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Have proven ability to prioritize and execute deliverables efficiently and timely with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to travel throughout New York City.
