Reports To: This position reports to the System Director of Rehab Services. Supervision may be exercised over the work of the multidisciplinary group of employees in the Schuyler Hospital inpatient and SNF area for coverage purposes. Job Summary: The Outpatient Rehabilitation Manager offers and holds responsibility, accountability, and authority for the rehabilitation therapy outpatient clinics, including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Pathology. This role functions as a resource to the system wide interdisciplinary rehabilitation and related teams. Responsibility is centralized in several major areas: communicating expectations; enforcing the delivery of quality care and services through effective communication and observation; measuring specific interventions, practices and their associated outcomes; achieving clinical, financial, material, and human resource unit-related goals; staff retention, mentoring and satisfaction; recruitment and patient satisfaction. Acting as both a manger and a therapist, this role is responsible for evaluation, planning, directing and administering rehabilitation interventions and modalities of treatment. The therapist will be highly motivated to continue development of clinical skills, administrative skills and evidenced based practice. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Management: Functions in a leadership role and represents the rehabilitation department in issues involving Seneca View (SV) and inpatient rehabilitation. Provides oversight to SNF and Inpatient therapy staff for day-to-day operations, including schedule management, supply management, equipment maintenance, leadership and patient rounding.
- Delivery of Services: Functions in a leadership role and engages in planning and implementing strategies to assure the delivery of quality services which are efficient, fiscally responsible, and patient experience focused. Exhibits willingness to explore and support new services or services changes, in collaboration with System director and Campus Leadership.
- Ensuring a Prepared and Competent Staff: Ensures a confident, highly performing and satisfied team through clear communication of expectations, monitoring staff performance, providing appropriate feedback, guidance and accountability and ensuring team members have appropriate tools.
- Clinical Care: Assessment & Treatment: Assumes responsibility for monitoring staff capabilities in providing appropriate patient assessment, care planning, treatment implementation and techniques, care coordination and documentation while ensuring clinical quality and patient satisfaction in their assigned areas. Provides direct patient care following the standards outlined above.
- Providing Improvements in Performance: Effectively manages and utilizes the enterprise's performance improvement tools and resources to identify financial, quality or other opportunities for improvement and develops appropriate variance reports and work plans to improve performance.
- Risk Management/ Safety: Identifies unit deviation from customer service focus, standard work, policy & procedure or regulations and acts to implement solutions. Keeps Director informed of compliance and problems, provides solutions and aids in policy revision.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Education: Successful completion of accredited physical/occupational therapy program including Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate level program.
- Licensure: Current NYS licensure

- Experience: Preferred, not required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move patients with assistance
- Ability to provide manual therapy to patients including joint mobilization and soft tissue mobilization
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to sit and/or stand for greater than 8 hours per day.
Pay Range Disclosure
- $90,000.00 to $105,000.00 per year
