Outreach Coordinator for the Screening, Outreach, Assessment, & Resilience (SOAR) Program The University of Southern Mississippi is currently accepting applications for the position of Outreach Coordinator for the Screening, Outreach, Assessment, & Resilience (SOAR) Program.Position Details Location Hattiesburg 118 College DriveHattiesburg, Mississippi, 39406-0001United States Division School of Psychology Position Type Staff Employment Status Full Time Grant Funded Yes Pay Grade N06Posting Close Date Open Until Filled Job Summary The OutreachCoordinator will work in the USM Center for Behavioral Health supporting the Screening,Outreach, Assessment, & Resilience (SOAR) Program. The SOAR Program is anew addition of specialty services in the CBH which is targeted to identify andtreat Mississippians at risk for developing psychosis or experiencing earlypsychosis. The Outreach Coordinator will be directly responsible for the day-to-dayimplementation of outreach activities and educational presentations in supportof recruitment for the SOAR Program. The Outreach Coordinator is a grant-fundedposition through the Substance Abuse & Mental Health ServicesAdministration (SAMHSA; award number H79SM089799).Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Works closely with the Project Director, CBH Director, Program Coordinator, and leadership team to develop and implement outreach activities across the state of Mississippi.
  • Coordinates outreach events and travels state-wide in support of SOAR Program outreach and to attend relevant conferences.
  • Generates new and cultivates existing primary and secondary outreach efforts with community referral partners.
  • Develops and presents educational materials about psychosis and high-risk states as well as services offered by the CBH SOAR Program.
  • Coordinates SOAR Program outreach efforts with team members at the Mississippi Department of Mental Health, Mississippi State University, and Open Up Mississippi.
  • Tracks data related to outreach activities and works with the Program Coordinator in support of required SAMHSA reporting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum QualificationsFluent inEnglish, written and spoken. Associate's degree from an accredited college oruniversity. Related education and experience may be substituted on an equal basis.Driver's license and ability to regularly travel within the state ofMississippi.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively establish new professional relationships with community partners
    • Ability to maintain strong collaborative relationships with colleagues and work closely with a team
    • High degree of professionalism and ability to flexibly adapt to various community settings and contexts
    • Excellent verbal communication skills, particularly related to presenting and discussing relevant outreach materials
    • Ability to work both independently and in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team structure
    • Ability to operate computer systems, including Internet, Teams, email, databases, and word processing software (Microsoft Office Suite)
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field relevant to mental health (including but not limited to psychology, counseling, social work, etc.) or marketing/public relations.
    • Clinical or programmatic experience working with persons with psychosis or schizophrenia-spectrum disorders
    • Prior experience working with inter-disciplinary teams in a healthcare setting
    • Familiarity with healthcare settings and HIPAA privacy and confidentiality requirements
