Position Summary:The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the community outreach and awareness efforts of the CARE House of the Pee Dee throughout its four-county service area.Specific Responsibilities:Build and maintain positive and professional relationships within the community to strengthen awareness, increase community engagement and support CARE House programming and services.Represent the CARE House within the community by participating in community events, organizing and facilitating presentations, scheduling and facilitating facility tours and furthering awareness for CARE House, its mission and child abuse issues.Develop, plan and implement awareness events, initiatives and activities including but not limited to Child Abuse Prevention Month initiatives, Pinwheel Gardens, CAPES for Kids Run, etc.Develop and maintain electronic and print materials including electronic newsletters, press releases, and marketing materials; manage CARE House social media accounts, website and blog.Work with Prevention Program Coordinator to develop training materials to support prevention program.Support Multidisciplinary Teams (MDT) within CARE House service area by attending monthly meetings, planning and implementing recognition initiatives and assisting Advocates as needed.Communicate effectively and function in a collaborative manner with all levels of the organization, with participating agencies, volunteers and within the community.Attend and participate in regularly scheduled CAC staff meetings and membership meetings.Contribute to a work environment that is mutually supportive, respectful and diverse.Complete initial 24-hour Victim Service Provider training as required and maintain a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education each year per position grant requirements.Other duties as assigned by supervisor or added to the scope of responsibility for the position.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a human services, social work, psychology, communications or related field.Professional demeanor and appearance (when necessary) with excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and an ability to meet deadlines.Proven prioritization skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once and strong attention to detail.Minimum of 2 years' experience in community engagement, communications or program coordination role.Ability to relate to individuals and groups in an empathic, non-judgmental manner, and present sensitive material with professionalism.Ability to travel and work evenings or weekends when necessary.Must have own vehicle for various transportation needs; all travel falling within organizational policy is reimbursed.Proven ability to develop and present appropriate related programs to large audiences.Physical Requirements:Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone. Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone. Vision: Visual acuity adequately to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens. Other: Requires occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 10 pounds unassisted in normal daily activities and up to 30 lbs. for other required work activities. Additionally, requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements (especially if keyboarding and writing), standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
