Are you passionate about community involvement, public relations, and social media? Join the team! SARCOA is the Southern Alabama Regional Council on Aging, and we serve senior citizens, disabled individuals, and caregivers in seven counties: Barbour, Coffee, Covington, Dale, Geneva, Henry, and Houston. SARCOA is looking to hire an Outreach Coordinator. This is a full-time office-based position. The ideal candidate will develop and implement outreach strategies to engage with the community, build partnerships, and promote SARCOA programs and its mission. This role will require excellent communication skills, a passion for community outreach, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute outreach plans to increase community awareness and engagement.
  • Build and maintain relationships within the community.
  • Handle public speaking engagements.
  • Coordinate and participate in community events, workshops, and meetings.
  • Create and distribute promotional materials and communications to support outreach efforts.
  • Collaborate with team members to align outreach efforts with organizational goals.
  • Manage SARCOA social media platforms and handle website updates when needed.
  • Handle taking photos for events.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred- preferably in marketing, public relations, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role such as community outreach, public relations, or a similar role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with speaking engagements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products and social media platforms.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Proficient computer experience.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maneuver complex situations.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Reliable transportation and current auto insurance.
