Colonial Behavioral Health serves the citizens of James City County, City of Poquoson, City of Williamsburg, and York County.We are currently recruiting for an Outreach Manager position within our Prevention program. This position is responsible for providing a coordinated and collaborative approach to prevention, education and advocacy to decrease the negative impacts of substance use. Job Duties Job Responsibilities
  • Provides prevention services to the community through education and group interactions, as well as information and awareness programs for targeted communities, at-risk groups, and others potentially affected by trauma, substance use, gambling and other addictive disorders.
  • Coordinates and supports all general membership meetings and subcommittees.
  • Utilizes the Strategic Planning Framework to develop and implement activities as outlined in the coalition's work plan.
  • Other duties as assigned
Work ScheduleMonday-Friday Standard business hours.Hours may vary based on program needs. Qualifications (EEO) Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of prevention advocacy and educational principles and techniques as they pertain to the prevention of mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and substance abuse.
  • Knowledge of the mission, goals, and operations of the coalition and its strategic plan.
  • Ability to represent the agency and coalition on behalf of prevention issues and concerns at community forums, committees, and task forces.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others including professionals, service consumers, and the general public.
  • Bachelor's Degree in education or related field required.
  • Two years of experience in human services or prevention. Prior experience collaborating with community partners preferred.
  • Valid Driver's license and acceptable driving required.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
