The Outside Plant (OSP) Construction Estimator at ASG is responsible for creating estimates and proposals for various OSP projects including RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs. This role will have a working knowledge of OSP theory and associated principles, materials, and equipment. This position works with the Vice President of Business Development while adhering to safety codes and procedures. What you'll do: (Including, but not limited to):
- Evaluate proposals, specifications, blueprints, and construction documents to understand the project in full capacity
- Work closely with the construction project manager to oversee and coordinate the bid process for vendors and subcontractors
- Estimate time, labor, construction materials, and product costs to determine the overall cost for construction projects
- Produce written proposals, cost estimates, budgets, and updates for clients and project managers
- Provide accurate and clear quantity takeoff information to provide a detailed list of materials and assess the total construction costs
- Participate in proposal development efforts; follow up with clients on submitted proposals and budgets
- Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in applicable departments, and construction foremen to discuss, formulate estimates, and resolve inconsistencies
- Assemble and display completed estimates utilizing numerical and descriptive information
- Prepare special reports to summarize information and trends
- Performs other duties as assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the responsibilities of this job classification

Desired
- Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) certification from the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in project estimating or construction management
- Ability to read and understand OSP blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
- Must understand accounting, data and risk analysis, research methodology, and estimation metrics
