Outside Plant Technician - Sandoval Technology Solutions : Job Details

• Active DOD Secret Clearance

Education/Certification Requirements:

• 4+ years of related experience
• Certification in telecommunications or a related field is preferred

Work Experience & Skill Requirements

• Proficient knowledge of telecommunications systems, equipment, and best practices
• Understanding of outside plant cabling, fiber optics, and copper cabling
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications equipment, such as fiber optics, copper cabling, and other related infrastructure components
• Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting on outside and inside plant systems
• Perform repairs and replacements as needed to ensure optimal system performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate projects and ensure timely completion
• Assist in the development of project plans, including cost estimates and timelines
• Maintain accurate documentation of all installations, repairs, and modifications
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations
• Provide exceptional customer service and support, troubleshooting issues promptly and effectively

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Prolonged periods of working outside.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
