  • Implement established and personal sales plans and strategies to support the Sales effort.
  • Establish and maintain strong personal contacts and relationships with key customers in the assigned market. Communicate through electronic platforms and face-to-face visits with both existing and prospective customers.
  • Actively encourage all customers to deepen their business relationship with Seaport Steel. Develop a customer partnership to implement time and cost-saving measures utilizing Seaport's Steel services. Gather information on how Seaport can best serve the customers utilizing the following services: programming material handling, machine needs, and shipping.
  • Eliminate unprofitable business by transferring account responsibility to Inside Sales for evaluation and pricing structure.
  • Accepts responsibility for all Seaport Steel's interactions with assigned customers.
  • Coordinate with warehouse operations personnel to ensure delivery of customer orders on a timely basis, and with the highest possible level of quality.
  • Coordinate with appropriate departments to resolve customer complaints regarding damaged or incorrect material, and delivery issues that need to be resolved.
  • Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders and talk with customers at a business location or by phone.
Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: 2-4 years of Degree and 4 plus years related experience, or equivalent combination.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the steel industry, including market trends, pricing dynamics, and product specifications.
  • Sales Experience: Proven track record in sales, preferably within the steel or related industries.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with steel products and their applications, as well as proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information and negotiate with clients.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple accounts and tasks efficiently.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions to meet client needs and close sales.
  • Team Collaboration: Experience working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve sales targets.
