Overnight Caregiver - Right at Home : Job Details

OVERNIGHT CAREGIVERDEMENTIA EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!8pm to 8amRight at Home is seeking compassionate caregivers who are experienced with providing support to seniors living with dementia. As a caregiver working with this client you can expect to help with:

• Companionship and conversation. Client is very engaging and intelligent and loves to do research on her computer and learn new things. Caregiver will need to be skilled at redirection when topics of conversation cause client to have anxiety or stress.
• Transportation to errands, appointments, activities, including grocery shopping, doctor appointments, trips to the library or to the park to take a walk, etc. Transportation will be provided using the caregiver's vehicle. Mileage reimbursement will be provided.
• Stand-by or light assistance with ambulation. Client is independent in her ADLs but has had recent experience with an unwitnessed fall.
• Light housekeeping. Client keeps a clean and tidy home. Caregiver and client will engage in light housekeeping tasks together. Caregiver will need to do some of the more difficult tasks like changing bed linens, laundry, cleaning the bathroom, while client will assist with dusting, and light activities.
• Assist with meals. Client loves to eat healthy meals and takes pride and feels satisfaction in cooking her own meals. The caregiver will be assisting with meal planning, shopping for supplies, and meal preparation. This is an activity the client and caregiver will do together!

The following are required to be eligible for this assignment:

• Valid driver license with no restrictions
• Your own vehicle in good condition and with adequate insurance
• A clean driving record
• Experience working with people who have dementia
• Must be available to work a consistent, regularly-occurring schedule. This is NOT a PRN position.
• Must be available at least 3x weekly

Caregiver will remain awake throughout the duration of the shift. Sleeping on this shift is not allowed.
