The Hartford's Excess team is looking to add a Center Renewal Underwriter to their team which d elivers specialized umbrella and excess solutions in a variety of industries for middle and large commercial clients. Our highly experienced, responsive and accessible team is the driving force behind our best in class underwriting, claim and risk engineering capabilities.
Responsibilities:
+ Center underwriters are responsible for balancing renewal retention goal and rate goals and managing cross sell routines
+ Technical underwriting expertise in the risk selection, pricing, administration and account management of the Umbrella and Excess book of business.
+ Profitably writing and balancing a territorial book of business.
+ Identifying appropriate opportunities consistent with risk appetite.
+ Creating, driving and executing strategies for new and renewal accounts.
+ Effectively providing excellent account management service of an assigned territory through strategic planning and operational excellence. Has the ability to tailor a service plan for each client based on their individual needs.
+ Positively impacting and influencing final account pricing and terms.
+ Driving accountability personally and with our business partners.
Qualifications:
+ 3 + years of P&C Carrier Umbrella, Excess and/or Casualty Underwriting is preferred
+ Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining solid relationships with all internal and external business partners
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
+ An ability to think analytically about business problems, make recommendations and propose solutions
+ High energy self-starter, who is resilient and has an entrepreneurial spirit
+ Demonstration of solid time, organizational, and desk management skills
+ Goal-oriented and delivers outcomes
+ Ability to challenge the status quo and strong desire to win
+ Superior technical knowledge and sound decision-making and analytical skills
This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$66,640 - $141,720
The posted salary range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
