Assists with comprehensive public and voluntary recreation programs at a community center or other recreation facility, indoor center, playground, playfield, or day camp by performing the following duties.
Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Welcomes visitors and answers incoming telephone calls.
2. Assists with recreation programs, including music, dance, arts and crafts, cultural arts, nature study, swimming, social recreation and games, or camping.
3. Monitors spectators and participants at recreation programs, events, and sports activities to ensure orderly conduct.
4. Receives, stores, and issues recreational or sports equipment and supplies.
5. Takes attendance and inventory at recreation programs, sporting events, operates audiovisual equipment, and monitors activities of participants during recreational trips or tours.
6. Arranges chairs, tables, and sporting or exercise equipment in designated rooms or other areas for scheduled group activities such as banquets, wedding receptions, parties, group meetings, or sports events.
7. Provides support for department special events before, during, and after the event in the areas and for functions relative to essential job duties and/or otherwise assigned.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED required. Six (6) months of related experience and/or training.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATES
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Operators Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
First Aid & CPR certification or the ability to obtain certification within six-months of start date.

Aquatics Specific: Food Handler Certification
