Job Description :
Shipping & Receiving - Receiving & Distribution Job Description: Under the supervision of Manager, perform duties in receiving or distribution as required at the Experimental Station or Chestnut Run Plaza. Performing the following duties while maintaining attention to quality, productivity standards all in a safe manner. Responsibilities & Duties - Receiving:
  • Respond to Customer requests for information and assistance regarding expected shipments (i.e. tracking, reassigning, hold for pickup, rush delivery)
  • Interface with Carriers and Couriers on behalf of DuPont and Customers
  • Accept deliveries from USPS, Certified, Registered, FedEx, UPS, Express, Third Party Mail, Interoffice Mail, CDC Printouts, Bulk Mail, Checks, Magazines/Catalogs, Freight, etc.
  • Scan packages / freight into tracking system immediately upon arrival
  • Verify count / accuracy of packages and freight prior to accepting ownership i.e. signing carrier's manifest
  • Check for damaged shipments upon arrival, note any damage on the shipping companies paper work, make a copy of the paper work and notify package or freight recipient of any noticeable damage and get approval acceptance
  • Separate & process Priority, Accountable's and Overnights immediately for delivery
  • Responsible for entering all packages / freight information, tracking numbers, quality entries, etc. into SC Logic Tracking System
  • Conduct a visual scan of the dock / receiving area at the end of the day to audit for any undelivered packages
  • Research all undeliverable packages due to mislabeling, incorrect address, no name, etc., contact sender, to help determine appropriate recipient
  • Housekeeping, maintain inside and outside docks keeping them clean and organized
Responsibilities & Duties - Distribution:
  • Log, manage, and prioritize incoming customer requests for movement of material
  • Stage packages as needed and load onto vehicles
  • Deliver all packages and materials from Receiving per package delivery label
  • Provide accountability for the delivery of the package(s) and the whereabouts at any given time
  • Safely operate company vehicles
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Pre-Employment Drug Screen and Pre-hire physical required
  • Background Check
  • Must have a Valid Driver's License
  • High School Diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field
  • Attention to detail
  • Leadership skills and takes initiative
  • Strong time management skills and communication skills with customers and co-workers, both verbally and via email
  • Knowledge of computer applications, basic mathematics and computer skills
  • Ability to be trained on new computer programs, SC Logic, SAP
  • Capable of lifting 50 LBS.
