ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWe are looking for a packaging graphics designer to join our in-house Art Team, working in our midtown Manhattan location. This individual will be working as part of our art/design team and help us develop packaging designs and graphics for a wide variety of soft home, glassware/ceramics mugs, giftsets, cosmetics bags, gourmet foods/ candies, toys, wall décor items, and many more. Kindly submit a portfolio displaying work samples with your resume.Develops packaging design and production files for various categories in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Evaluate the feasibility of design ideas and develop packaging solutions that highlight product features and benefits.As needed, build packaging mock-ups and illustrations for presentations and approvals.Communicates daily with overseas factories to follow up with the packaging projects, ensuring timely and successful results.Reviews factory mock-ups, makes necessary adjustments, and approves final packaging samples for production.Creates attractive product lifestyles presenting items in appropriate room settings, following brand guidelines and trends using Photoshop and Lightroom.Works on the graphic layouts of the packaging.Perform related duties as assigned.COMPETENCIESPackaging construction knowledge and ability to develop and adjust deadlines and production technical packages.Some packaging material knowledge, ability to choose the right material(s) for efficient production, optimal footprint, and a good balance between strength, esthetics, and cost efficiency.Fluency in Adobe Creative suite, focusing mainly on Illustrator, Photoshop, and Lightroom. InDesign knowledge is a plus.Team player to work in a collaborative environment with other designers and product development teams, reporting to the Art Director.Problem-solving personalityPhotoshop skills -to create product lifestyle images, and ability to manipulate product photography for new finishes, colors, or sizes, as needed.The ability to work on graphics and create presentations is a plus.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBA/BFA Degree in Graphic Design or Related Field with 2+ years Design Experience
