For more information about United Legwear & Apparel Co., please visit: Job Summary: The Designer (Packaging) is responsible for the design, creation and development of cost effective and safe packaging of designated brand right products that support strategic initiatives. This position will conceptualize design and execute a prototype for attention-grabbing packaging materials using design elements such as shape, color, graphics and typography to create packaging that is functional and appealing to customers.Essential Functions (Including but not limited to):
  • Create concept designs for a range of brands and products for internal and external customer review.
  • Drive concept artwork from initial design to creating packaging dielines and detailed tech-packs for factory development and production.
  • Create submission boards for licensor/customer approvals.
  • Detailed layout review, sample review for color, quality, and artwork approvals
  • Sample organization and filing
  • Mock-up packaging prototypes
  • Support the team with program reports, brand/customer guidelines, development/production lists, and other delay tasks.
  • Data entry and uploading final tech-packs into ERP system for production.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned in support of the company needs and operations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Design or related area and some work experience in the design industry.
  • Experience in Graphic Design.
  • High creativity and artistic abilities with keen attention to detail and ability to visualize in three dimensions.
  • Highly proficient in MAC OS, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Proficient computer skills to include Adobe Suite programs and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
  • Excellent written and verbal skills as required for effective interpersonal communication.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks and workload efficiently and seamlessly and follow-up.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team under critical time frames.
  • Self driven and experience working in a fast-paced environment and ability to apply good work habits to effectively complete assigned tasks and contribute to the smooth operation of the company/department.
This is an onsite position working daily in our New York Office. This position is contract to permanent placement. The hourly rate range is $30.00 - $39.00 p/h.
