Overview

Responsible for operating the filler of an assigned line, including ensuring that product is properly sealed and packaged. Assists in pulling supplies and loading filler appropriately throughout production process. This position is designated as a Qualified Individual responsible for allergen, sanitation and foreign material preventive controls. This is a first shift position Monday - Friday 6am to 2pm. No weekends!

Responsibilities

* Load filler with appropriate product film, boxes and labels a required for the correct packaging of product.

* Operate filler and production line as appropriate.

* Reads, cleans and calibrates Ishida scales.

* Provides product samples to lab according to defined requirements.

* Responsible for ensuring that proper weights and metal detector checks are made.

* Oversee line packers to ensure compliance with all corporate and facility policies.

* Cleans equipment according to specified procedures.

* Equipment inspections for damage and cleanliness.

* Verification of all product codes for correctness and associated documentation.

* Completes all required documentation and reporting for equipment, supplies, and products daily.

* Maintains company standards for cleanliness, food safety and productivity in the processing area.

* Provides support for the production supervisor in maintaining continuous production.

* Ensures compliance to quality, food safety, 5S, HAACP & OSHA programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards.

* Follows all applicable Standard Operating Procedures.

* Follows all General Safety Orders.

* Assist with Master Sanitation Schedule.

* Assist with other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

* High school diploma or GED certificate required.

* Basic math and reading skills required.

* Prior experience in a manufacturing environment requiring repetitive work preferred.

* Basic mechanical aptitude is preferred.

Working Conditions/Environment

Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, lift and bend while moving about the facility. Must be able to move a weight of 50 pounds. Must be able to stand for an 8-hour shift. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the plant is below threshold. Earplugs, hairnets, and other PPE may be required, and are available if desired, in the plant in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
