Packaging Specialist (Onsite) - Bluestem Brands : Job Details

We are seeking a Packaging Specialist for Bluestem Brands to be located at our St. Cloud, MN Distribution Center. The Packaging Specialist is responsible for assisting the Receiving Team with prompt daily inbound receipts. This position will work closely between the Quality Assurance Team, Vendor Compliance Team, and Warehouse Receiving Team to receive goods accurately and swiftly. In addition, this position will work closely with the packing team to ensure the proper size cartons are assigned to outbound shipments. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspects and evaluates incoming receipts to ensure merchandise has the correct attributes for the item including dimensions, weight, hazard material indicator, pack filter, and default container.
• Evaluates incoming receipts for product integrity. Works with merchandizing team to set up correct rework to enhance the overall customer experience.
• Inspects and evaluates incoming Dropship Returns to ensure merchandise has the correct attributes for the item including dimensions, weight, hazard material indicator, pack filter, and default container.
• Appraises customer Returns for opportunities to reduce item damage during transit. Review findings with merchandize team on monthly basis.
• Support packers on the line to obtain the ‘best fit' result for customer orders.
• Provide recommendations and solutions for issues related to carton changes and product damage.
• Conduct pack line audits and review product dimensions and weight for reconciliation of invoices. Review carton overrides and take corrective measures to ensure item integrity.
• Insure timely item attribute updates into Highjump (WMS) and PIM systems.
• Conduct random item audits to make sure Highjump and PIM systems are in sync including Dropship item returned to the warehouse.
• Monitor parcel packaging to ensure outbound parcels have the least amount of air space possible.
• Enhance the overall customer experience by making sure correct packaging has been assigned and reduce postage expenses.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• At least 1 year of administrative experience in a production environment.
• Previous experience in a fast-paced distribution or production environment with demonstrated ability to prioritize.
• Proficient in excel and 10 key data entry.
• Previous experience making effective decisions in a fast-paced working environment.
• Proven ability to demonstrate professionalism, dependability, integrity and trustworthiness.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information
• Previous experience managing multiple priorities with experience operating independently and under minimal supervision.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime, as needed
