Packaging Stability & Shelf-life Technician Duration: 6+ Months contract with possibility of extension or FTE Location: Frisco, TX 75034 Work hours: 1st shift 32hours Job Description: Packaging Stability & Shelf-life Technician This role will be responsible for executing product shelf-life testing/packaging compatibility stability testing under direction of shelf-life lead/category leads. The Category scientist will direct the work, and Packaging Engineering will be a key stakeholder in receiving the data created. This role requires someone who can take direction, and is also organized, able to independently complete tasks once the expectations are clear and can take on a variety of different tasks both in a lab setting as well as organizing data and using a computer. This role will entail timely execution of each of the following: • Initiating shelf life/stability studies: Attend kick off meeting and take notes to create Shelf-life intake/request form (Sensory, PD, Packaging) • Receiving/unpacking shelf-life products: Receive samples from packaging engineer and enter into storage conditions (need to be clearly labelled when received) • Drive between locations to transfer goods from storage to testing site • Recording inventory of shelf-life products • Labeling and storing products in designated storage chambers • Scheduling team organoleptic benchtops at designated shelf-life markers • Pulling products at designated shelf-life markers • Executing team organoleptic benchtops • Capturing team commentary in designated database • Submitting samples for analytical chemistry • Create project folders in Share Point/ store the relevant files o Document data from sensory evaluations o Compile Sensory data over time • Provide interim updates to packaging team as needed • Packaging Related Projects - Stability testing for productivity or development Skills • Familiarity with Microsoft Office • Experience with a variety of different knowledge management systems: SAP, SharePoint, Labware, or others • Technically savvy with entering information into databases, pulling together information for reporting, publishing reports, creating and saving files to designated folders • Familiarity with good manufacturing processes, sanitary food preparation • Able to lift heavy boxes • Experienced in a laboratory setting desired • Ability to maintain schedule, and attend to small details • Ability to identify and raise issues to supervisor Hours/Week • 32hrs/week
