Opportunity Summary: As the Packaging Supplies Representative, you will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the Packaging Supplies Department within a box manufacturing company. Daily tasks include providing quotes to our customers on our various packaging and warehouse supplies, placing sales orders, placing purchase orders, and providing samples.You will also be responsible for assisting and maintaining the Vendor Management Inventory (VMI). Daily interaction with the sales force is a big part of this role, advising the Sales Representatives and our customers on all aspects of packaging supplies from what type of tape to use to how quickly we can deliver a rush order. You will be trained to be an expert in the products that we supply and in turn, play an important role in the growth of the department.ESSENTIALS JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
  • Process customer's orders and provide quotes on various packaging supplies, process repeat orders, vendor bids, and warehouse supplies.
  • Process materials purchase orders (POs) in Commerce, our ERP system, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Handle customers questions as required and follow up with the appropriate sales representative and/or product vendor.
  • Communicate timely product delivery confirmation dates via email to the assigned Customer Service Representative.
  • Record and maintain PO changes in the Company database system.
  • Run and maintain the Suggested Order Report in the Company database system, confirming the packaging supplies quantities are always maintained in the warehouse.
  • Ability to manage the day-to-day department demands and workload and to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective and accurate communication with internal and external customers, demonstrating proper telephone and email business etiquette.
  • Ability to adapt and actively participate in a collaborative environment, be a team player and provide backup to the team when needed.
  • Complies with Company polies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned per business demands.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED. Some college education is preferred.
  • Three years of experience with purchasing and managing vendor relationships.
  • Three years of data-entry experience with various ERP systems.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Proficiency in Commerce and Amtech
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products - especially Excel.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly developed sense of attention to detail and follow through.
  • Ability to drive projects to completion in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with a helpful and cooperative attitude.
  • Ability to learn multiple tasks, cross train and provide backup to the team to build capability for business continuity and best practices.
