Packaging & Warehouse Technician - American Crystal Sugar : Job Details

American Crystal Sugar Company Starting at $22.78/hr. Rotating 12hr shift schedule Day one benefits, Paid Time Off and more! The position of Packaging Technician IV, is considered an entry level position for the ACSC factorypackaging & warehouse department and a Packaging Technician Program. Individuals in this position mustsafely perform basic equipment care, basic mobile equipment, operate industrial packaging lines whileproviding packaging equipment support. The technician performs sanitation and dust abatement duties andcompletes food safety inspections and documentation. The technician is also required to understandequipment operating principles and fundamentals. Principle accountabilities include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for packaging of sugar, including machine operations, proper coding, case packaging, palletizing, quality checks, SPC weighing/charting and sanitation procedures.
• Complies with all current food safety/food quality/HACCP, and GMPs.
• Assures Regulatory Compliance with FDA and Department of Commerce.
• Check packaging to make sure all packaged products are properly coded.
• Provide palletizer/wrapper and sugar screening support and stock bags for continuous packaging line operation.
• Operate remelt, dust collection, reclaim and production toting stations.
• Comply with federal, state, company and factory safety requirements.
• Comply with federal, state and company quality standards/policies.
• Operate packaging equipment using control systems and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Identify product or packaging issues resulting from operational issues.
• Be a team player who demonstrates initiative and a professional work ethic.
• Be able to work overtime as required and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or a GED certificate is required.
• One (1) year of manufacturing experience is preferred although not mandatory.
• Individuals are required to submit to and successfully pass a Safety Screen that evaluates their abilityto safely execute duties and tasks of this position.
• Experience and familiarity with packaging and associated line equipment is preferred.
• Experience and familiarity with computerized process control systems and instrumentation ispreferred.
• Must be able to read and write in English in order to comprehend and interpret technical literature,reference material and understand how to use SDS information.
• Must be a team player who demonstrates initiative and professional work ethic.
• Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
