Job DescriptionDEPARTMENT: PACKINGJOB TITLE: PACKERREPORTS TO: Packing FacilitatorSHIFT DAYS /HOURS: 10 hr. shifts (Monday-Friday) 7:00 am- 5:00 pm) Must be willing and able to work Mandatory OT on off days as necessary.STARTING PAY: $16.48 per hour.The Packer is an essential part of the manufacturing team and ensures the flow of finished products that are necessary for the Bonnell business to be successful. The Packer will consist of all functions related to packing of Bonnell parts.What You Will Be Responsible For:
- Perform packing functions per documented customer specifications.
- Verify that all metal is packed properly and adequately banded.
- Tag each bundle with packing tag.
- Verify that all parts being packed meet Bonnell Aluminum quality standards.
- Measure part length and verify that they meet the requirements of the shop order.
- Visually inspect parts for surface defects.(Dents, Scratches, blisters, die lines, streaks)
- Visually inspect parts for bow and twist conditions.
- Record all data on required paperwork or on EPICS.
- Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Line Leaders, and co-workers.
- Keep work area clean and safe.
- Wear required PPE.
- Inform Supervisor of any quality or equipment or safety concerns.
- Work without supervision at a good pace.
- Have an acute awareness of conditions and hazards associated with the job.
- Perform other duties assigned by Supervisor.
- These duties may require the temporary transfer to another department.
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and always without air conditioning.
What You Will Need:
- Must be able to read and understand shop orders.
- Must be able to read and understand tape measures.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to use banding equipment, air nail gun, and radial arm wood saw.
- Must be able to read and understand Bonnell shop orders.
- Must be able to understand decimals, fractions, and tolerances.
- Must be able to use various quality gauges.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic math skills
