A packer's job is to prepare products for shipping, including:
- Picking and packing: Pulling items from inventory, packing them, and weighing and labeling them
- Packaging: Using packing materials like bubble wrap or foam to protect products
- Labeling: Applying labels to shipments, including fragile containers and marketing collateral
- Quality control: Checking the quality of products and reporting any issues
- Order paperwork: Completing order paperwork accurately and on time
- Equipment operation: Using warehouse machinery like forklifts, pallet jacks, and pallet wrappers
- Safety: Following safety requirements and maintaining a safe work environment
MUST know how to operate hand-held items - RF Scanner
May also help with loading items for delivery.
Skills and qualifications include:
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for hours in a row
- Detail-oriented mindset
- Ability to read and understand delivery orders
- Ability to work with minimal guidance
- Ability to operate computers and warehouse management software
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Physical stamina
