Packer Part -time - Schroeder Moving : Job Details

Schroeder Moving Systems is seeking part time packers (10-15 hours weekly)

$18.00-$20.00 hourly based on moving industry experience.

(We also have full time mover positions available)

This position is not based on a daily set schedule. Applicants must be able to work 8 hours on the designated days they are available. Start time can range from 7:00 am to 9:00am. Packers will not work everyday and will be scheduled as needed 1-2 weeks out.

Position Summary

Excellent customer service is the number one goal. These associates package material and product (household goods) in our customers houses and businesses manually by performing the essential job functions of a packer per established company guidelines and requirements. Prior moving industry experience is preferred but a thorough training program is in place for those new to the industry.

Essential Job Functions

· Wraps dishes or fragile items in packing paper and packs them into containers

· Wraps non-fragile items in appropriate size containers, distributing weight for proper handling.

· Inspects materials, products, and containers at each step of the packing process.

· Records information such as quantity of containers, weight, time, and date packaged.

· Collects or picks up empty containers, packing materials.

· Cleaning of company equipment and property throughout the day

· And all other tasks as assigned

Qualification Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Good communication, organizational, time management mathematical skills
• Dependable and Reliable
• Inventory, Equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills may be required.

Knowledge and Ability Requirements:

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

• Must be able to communicate efficiently and effectively to both co-workers and customers alike.
• Must be able to listen and take instructions with regards to customer service.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using both whole numbers and decimal points.

REASONING SKILLS:

• Must be able to solve everyday problems, always looking for the best right answer.
• Must be able to interpret/understand/explain a variety of instructions. These instructions can/will come in multiple forms (written, oral, schedule, diagram)
• Must be able to read a map

Physical Demands and Abilities

· Regularly lift and/or move objects 10lbs to up to 50lbs

· Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

· Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance

· Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus, coordination

· Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending on the season
