We are a 501(c)3 non-profit venue with the mission of providing accessible and affordable space for independent artists. We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Front of House Associate and Bartender; our ideal applicant is someone with a positive, outgoing personality, and who shares our love for indie theater and excels in creating an exceptional guest experience.
At The RAT, you'll play an essential role in ensuring our guests have an enjoyable experience from the moment they walk in the door. You'll provide excellent hospitality, manage front-of-house operations, and assist with our bar service during performances. This position is perfect for someone who is eager to work in a dynamic, arts-focused environment and is excited to grow with a new organization dedicated to indie artists.
Some of the things you'll do on a shift at The RAT:
Manage front-of-house operations during performances, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and a seamless front-of-house experience.Mix and serve drinks following The RAT's standard recipes, and ensure high-quality service.Collaborate with the evening's artists and assist with setting up stage lighting and sound as needed.Monitor guest satisfaction and handle any concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.Assist with setting up and breaking down the space before and after shows.Uphold safety and health standards (including food handling) and follow all relevant protocols.Cash handling, light cleaning, and daily space maintenance.Other daily tasks as they arise. Some bartending experience (classic cocktail knowledge is a plus).Stage management or front-of-house experience in theater or hospitality.DOH Food Handler's card (or willingness to obtain one).TIPS Certification is preferred, but not required.Familiarity with theatrical lighting and sound systems is useful but not required.Passion for independent theater and enthusiasm for working in a creative, arts-driven environment.Strong communication and organizational skills.Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.Availability on evenings and weekends.Why Join Us at The RAT?
