Aerospace Paint AssistantThe Paint Assistant will support the painting operations for aircraft components and structures, ensuring all surfaces are properly prepared and finished to meet industry standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment and a strong commitment to quality and safety.Essential Functions Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming as needed. Mix paints, primers, and other coatings according to specifications and manufacturer's instructions. Perform test such as viscosity on mixed paints. Print and maintain pot life stickers for each paint mixed. Maintain and clean painting tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient workspace. Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times. Assist in moving and arranging materials and equipment. Conduct quality checks on painted surfaces to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications. Help with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed. Ensure proper adhesion of paint and coatings by performing surface preparation tasks meticulously. Perform touch-ups and repairs as needed. Anticipate the painters' needs and perform all necessary duties to ensure they can remain in the paint booth.Required Education & Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of painting techniques and tools. Ability to mix paints accurately to achieve desired colors and consistencies. Strong attention to detail and quality. Good physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods. Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in a manufacturing environment.Preferred Skills & Experience Previous experience in an aerospace, automotive, or industrial painting environment. Knowledge of different types of paints, primers, and coatings used in the aerospace industry. Experience with spray painting equipment and techniques.
