Job Description :

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the employees wear their PPE. (Including bump caps).
  • Correct safety hazards.
  • Report and follow up on unresolved safety hazards.
  • Clean and keep the floor clean.
  • Ensure that all guards are kept in place.
  • Ensure that someone is always in the paint room. (Stagger breaks)
  • Ensure that the painted items are inspected hourly.
  • Ensure that needed corrections are made to keep products correct.
  • Ensure that all testing is performed on time and logged appropriately. If unable to test

when required, a comment should be made to explain delay testing.

  • Ensure and verify that all quality checks are performed.
  • Ensure that all chemicals are within expiration dates. Use FIFO policy and rotate stock
  • Perform weekly chemical locker inspections.
  • Ensure that paint is within expiration date. Use FIFO and rotate stock.
  • Verify spay booth quality and effectiveness each shift.
  • Always keep the equipment available for use.
  • Quickly respond to breakdowns.
  • While the line is running, inspect the chains and identify bad components.
  • During downtime or line stoppages, repair/replace bad components.
  • Complete assigned PM's. Maintain PM checklist up to date and turned in.
  • Follow up on needed repairs. Make sure that they get completed.
  • Report repair completion.
  • Identify, manage, and complete semi-annual shutdown items.
  • Identify assignments in writing for maintenance items.
  • Be present to assist when maintenance is being completed.
  • Organize, clean, and keep the paint room clean.
  • Make sure that the employees keep the paint room clean and organized.
  • Organize shelves and keep them organized.
  • Throw away bad parts and trash.
  • Keep barrels and hoppers empty when not in use.
  • Make and post a work schedule.
  • Ensure there is always two-person coverage during department operations.
  • Cross train so that there is coverage of both lines.
  • Face to face turnover in the paint room.
  • Stay busy
  • Ask for support and guidance when needed.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year experience stacking is necessary to develop skills and knowledge to perform proficiently.
  • Must work well in team environment
  • Experience working in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Understand plant safety guidelines and pass all required safety training
  • Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to be on feet up to 8-12 hours per shift
  • Ability to work overtime, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Use of hands and fingers to perform job function
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend and climb
  • Ability to lift to 35lbs

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand and talk or hear; and walk or sit. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell.The employee must regularly lift and/or move tools, materials and equipment weighing up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.Employees in this class may be required to wear other safety equipment in accordance with GA/OSHA regulations.
