Summary of Position:We are looking for a Painter/Detailer to join our team at our facility in Ontario, CA. As a level four Painter/Detailer, you will be responsible for deburring, grinding, polishing, painting, and cleaning parts to meet specific dimensional requirements of the engineering drawings/blueprint, including detailing processes. Additionally, it is expected that the Painter/Detailer possess leadership qualities, as well as the skills to train and mentor others.Essential Functions of the Position:
- Maintains a clean and organized work area to 6S standards.
- Show a strong understanding of quality standards for surface preparation.
- Paint parts per purchase order and production schedule.
- Maintain paint inventories.
- Understand the requirements in paint manufacturer's technical and safety data sheets
- Cleaning machines, equipment and work areas using water, solvents and other cleaning aids
- Other tasks, as directed by management
- Ensure safety and quality considerations and requirements are proactively addressed and implemented in product production processes.
- The employee must regularly lift and move physical inventory weighing up to 30 pounds.
- The employee must be able to spend long periods standing.
- Adheres to all workplace safety guidelines, policies, and laws determined by the company, state, and federal authorities
- Maintaining an inventory of supplies like paint brushes, rollers and tarps
- Work independently, follow instructions, and concentrate for long periods.
- Applying paint, stain, and other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes, rollers or sprayers
- Able to use a drop indicator, calipers, and micrometer for measuring
- Able to lapp parts to achieve dimension and flatness and be able to polish parts
- Mixing and matching paint, stain and other finishes to job specifications
- Preparing surfaces to be painted by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding them until they're smooth
Required Skills:
- Basic PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), are crucial for success in this position.
- English language skills and the ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and work order instructions are highly valued in this role.

- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and a high volume of work on a deadline.
- Experience with detailed work under a microscope is a plus.
- Use of grinding equipment with various grinding wheels and Scotch-Brite abrasive wheels to remove burrs. Able to replace worn or defective media as required
Experience and Education:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum five years of experience in a machine shop environment.
- Minimum three years of experience in painting.
