Position Description
The City of Seattle is seeking an experienced and motivated Painter Crew Chief to join our team. This is a working supervisor position leading a small team that helps maintain City facilities including Seattle City Hall, Police precincts, Fire stations, Fleets Management garages and more.

Finance and Administrative Services (FAS) is often the public's first interaction with the City of Seattle, operating as a customer-focused front door that assists with everything from paying utilities or reporting a pothole to requesting public information or even adopting a new pet.
The 450-plus employees of FAS span across 10 divisions and work behind-the-scenes providing critical functions, like managing 120 City facilities—including police and fire stations—coordinating logistics and emergency management and making sure minority-owned businesses can equitably compete for City contracts. Minimum Qualifications:
Three years journey-level painter experience and the ability to supervise the work of others.
(Or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class.)

This position is classified as a Classified Civil Service, regular, Full-Time. It is Civil Service represented, FLSA non-exempt and is eligible for overtime. The full range for this step-progression position is $48.91 - $52.97 per hour.

Tentative Recruitment Dates:
1st Interview: November 21, 2024; conducted via Microsoft Teams
Working test: December 2-5, 2024. This test involves prepping and rolling paint, preparing mud and patching sheetrock and related tasks.
2nd Interview: December 9-10, 2024; conducted in person at Airport Way Center, 2203 Airport Way South, Seattle.
