Painter II - State of Massachusetts : Job Details

The Department of Developmental Services is seeking an experienced tradesperson for the Painter II position. The main function of this position is to perform painting and window/screen repairs for all of the state-operated homes and support buildings within the Central/ West Region. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Applies paint, varnish and similar materials in finishing interior and exterior surfaces. Mixes and blends paint, uses putty, plaster and other materials in preparing surface for painting and to fix windows. Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, dusting, sanding, etcetera. Must have the ability to climb and work from a scaffold. Candidate should be able to prepare specifications for large projects, secure quotes from contractors, and survey locations to identify homes that require painting improvements.
