Painter - Wabash National Corporation : Job Details

POSITION SUMMARYFollowing blueprints and work orders, masks unit using tape and paper. May perform minor body work, as necessary, using bondo and sanding with D/A. Inspects Unit for any prep flaws. Following blueprints and work orders, verifies paint codes and layout. Tacks off and paints using correct paint system, either gravity fed, or pressure pot as required.EXPERIENCE

• Paint preparation techniques
• Application of paint and paper
• Minor body repair
• Various paint systems, including clear coat, basecoat/clearcoat & Dupont Elite
• Proper use and disposal of paint and related chemicals/material
• Cleanup and proper maintenance of spray-painting equipment
• Specialty Vehicle Manufacturing Environment

SKILLS

• Read and follow blueprints and work order
• Tape measure accuracy
• Masking
• Paint preparation
• Various air tools
• Cleaning and maintenance of equipment
• Minor body repair

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Lifting minimal
• Squatting/bending/kneeling/overhead work repetitively
• Lifting- minimal
• Standing for long periods
• Exposure to paint, paint fumes and related materials

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• Safety glasses with side shields
• Steel toe or approved safety toe shoes
• Tyvex protective suits
• Gloves
• Respirator (charcoal) and respirator training
• Fresh Air system

• Housekeeping

EDUCATION

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent relevant experience
