DescriptionEssential Job Functions: Remove paint, dirt, grease or rust on pipes or other parts/materials to prepare for paint applicationsSelect and prepare appropriate coatings of paints within specificationsSpray paint or hand paint pipes or other parts and machines within specificationsInspect coating quality, viscosity and paint flowDispose and handle hazardous waste materials safely within standards, and properly clean tools after use.Operate hand and power tools common to painting equipmentRequired Minimum Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or equivalentWork Experience: Painter experience preferred.License/Certifications:Valid Driver's License and clean driving recordCurrent OSHA 10 and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) certificates or be able to obtain upon hirePost Job Offer Requirements:Take and pass a pre-employment drug testAlaska North Slope locations only: Take and pass a Fit-for-Duty ExaminationKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Knowledge of civil construction and characteristics of all equipment functions and operations related to the positionKnowledge of proper use of equipment and hands-on experience using airless paint sprayers.Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations and industry practices related to equipment use and operationSkills in daily maintenance of machines including repairs and inspecting equipment to identify possible problemsSkills in use of Computer/Laptop or other supporting devices commensurate with program and job applicationsAbility to use time and equipment efficiently in order to complete projects on timeAbility to communicate effectively in a team environmentAbility to handle stress and possess positive traits even in difficult or challenging situationsAbility to attend training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by departmentPhysical Demand/Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
