Description The Equipment/Automotive Painter will be responsible for:
- preparing metal and other surfaces on equipment and automotive equipment for painting, applying lacquers, primers, synthetic enamels, polyurethane, and epoxy with spray guns and other auto painting equipment.
- removing accessories, glass, trim, and other parts.
- cleans, sands, and prepares surfaces for painting
- applies primers and finish coats to automobiles, trucks, trailers and equipment.
- applies decals and trim
- may do body work
- may work with flammable and toxic materials
- other job as directed by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Must have good knowledge of painting, body work, materials, techniques used in the trade
- a good knowledge of maintaining spray guns, and other auto painting equipment
- Must be safety conscious with the ability to follow established policies and procedures both written and orally
- general knowledge of stenciling, spray gun usage and other auto painting equipment
Safety
- Will spend a substantial portion of time spray painting thus requiring employee to wear a mask, fresh air breathing apparatus or other safety related equipment as needed when working with paint products emitting hazardous vapors
Physical Requirements:
- ability to lift up to 35 lbs. repetitively and occasionally over 70 lbs.
- ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and balance under precarious conditions; arm, hand and finger dexterity with at least one hand involved in reaching, grasping and feeling with good eyesight and color vision.
