Job DescriptionArconic is currently in search of a Painter to join our Kawneer Team in Visalia. The painters are responsible to p re-treats and racks extrusions, tends machine equipped with compressed air spray nozzles that coat extrusions with paint. This position is on 1st shift.   • Adhere to all Kawneer rules and regulations.
  • Able to read work order and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Able to identify material by part number and product finish.
  • Inspects extrusions for scratches, dents, cleanliness and quality before being painted
  • Loads extrusion onto carts and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Moves controls to maintain temperature, flow and composition of pre-treatment chemicals in dip tanks.
  • Dips extrusions in pre-treatment dip tanks using an overhead crane.
  • Codes extrusions with identifying color tags or marks according to desired product finish and color
  • Works with a partner to lift extrusions onto motorized hanging rack, applies load bar and clips.
  • Stage extrusions on rack.
  • Turns valves and observes gauges to set pressure and to control flow of paint to each spray station per work instructions.
  • Inspects painted extrusions for runs, sags, and unpainted areas.
  • Readjusts pressure valves to control direction and pattern of spray and to correct flaws in coating.
  • Hand spray electrostatic paint on to extrusions to cover unpainted areas, must meet quality specifications.
  • Mixes paint according to specifications with viscometer to regulate consistency according to changes in atmospheric conditions.
  • Maintains record of paint issued and inventory of supplies on hand.
  • Knowledge and ability to follow the MDR scrap process.
  • Utilizes JDE program to issue sales orders, back flush order, verify material, etc.
  • Follow all chemical MSDS procedures
  • Perform various quality tests throughout the paint process.
  • Cleans paint from ceiling and walls of booth, conveyor hooks or grid, and from disks, cones, spray heads, and hoses.
  • Performs scheduled department preventative maintenance services on all equipment.

QualificationsQualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • One to six months related paint work experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets documents such as, operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondents.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other employees and supervisors.
  • Ability to count, to add, to subtract and to multiply simple numbers.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with and respond to minor problems in standard work situations.
  • Ability to obtain a mobile equipment license, fork lift and electric pallet jack certification, overhead crane operator license, is preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to repetitively lift up to 40 pounds or 1/3 of your body weight.
  • Able to work 12 hour days.
  • Able to wear required PPE
