Position Summary:The basic function of the Painter is to mix, prepare, and apply atomized paint, ink or other coating agents to products or materials to aesthetically enhance and/or provide corrosion resistance per manufacturing and NADCAP requirements.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or specifications to determine prepping /deprepping
- Mixes paints and inks with proper thinner solution to obtain correct consistency for application. (touch ups )
- Applies paint in accordance with product requirements.
- Masks parts and cleans parts
- Selects holding fixtures, attachments, accessories, and materials for proper application of paints.
- Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications and blueprints by use of appropriate measuring devices.
- Uses proper safety equipment including turning on fans and wearing respirators, gloves, safety glasses.
- Performs clean up on equipment with solvents at end of run or when using different materials.
- Confers with engineers, production personnel, supervisors or others to resolve prepping and de-prepping problems.
- Performs any other related or unrelated task that may be assigned from time to time.
- Complete all applicable quality forms. QC form #222 Paint Test Log, QC form #253 Paint Prep Sheet, QC form #254 Coating Record Sheet, and QC Form 261 Misc. Oven Log per Quality Work Instruction WI08032.
- Follow all NADCAP requirements.
- Able to read calipers.
- Maintain the 6S at all times ( sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain, safety )
Education and/or Experience:
- Record of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
- Six months to one year related experience and/or training or education.
