PAINTER/SAND BLASTER - Gulf Crane Services : Job Details

PRIMARY FUNCTION:•Conducts painting and Sand Blasting activities for shop.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:•Prepare surface to be painted by sanding or grinding.•Clean the surface to be painted.•Dip or spray valves as necessary to achieve required thickness.•Must be able to read and follow instructions and directions independently.QUALIFICATIONS:•High School graduate, hold GED certificate, or industry related experience.•Must possess the ability to process components in a reasonable time frame and have six (6) months of operation experience.SAFETY REQUIREMENTS•Disclaimer: Some shop workers are not trained for offshore work at the time of their initial hire. Additional training would be required if that worker would be requested to work offshore.Physical Requirements:•Climbing - off and on throughout the day•Language - Must be able to write and speak English•Drug and Alcohol Screen - GCS has a Zero Tolerance program•Pulling - your own weight along a vertical ladder or horizontal plain•Lifting - Able to lift 50 lbs. and more with a helper or mechanical assistance•Dexterity - Job will entail good manual dexterity of fingers with small and large parts•Blasting - additional overheating precautions must be taken and recognize restricted movement wearing a blast suit and hood limiting mobility, vision, hearing•Painting - requires annual pulmonary function & respirator fit testing to support requirement of wearing a mask when painting to protect from breathing fumesAdditional Job Requirements for Safety:•Weather
