• Responsible for the operations of one or more automated machines or equipment for the production of aluminum cans
• Must keep lines flowing, make continuous quality checks, & minor adjustments to conveyor belts and various factory equipment
• Accurate and continuous quality checks and recordkeeping required
• Understand and follow verbal instructions to completion of assigned tasks
• Keeps Production Supervisors/Managers informed of operational status of equipment and production issues
• Follows standard operating procedures. Must work effectively in a team environment
• Operates console that controls automatic palletizing equipment to sort, transfer, and stack on pallets finished cans.
• Reads production and delivery schedules and stacking pattern to determine sorting and transfer procedures, arrangement of cans on pallet, and destination of loaded pallet.
• Observes cans moving along conveyor to identify cans and to detect defective cans.
• Turns selector switch on palletizer to control stacking arrangement of packages on pallet and to transfer loaded pallet to storage or delivery platform.
• Performs quality checks and documents results
• Ensure the proper operation o equipment with empty pallets.
• Stops equipment to clear jams.
• Informs supervisor of equipment malfunction.
• May keep record of production and equipment performance.
• May operate depalletizing equipment.
• Performs other related duties as required
• Keeps work area safe, clean, and organized

This facility will manufacture aluminum cans for the beverage industry. This position will operate the Palletizer and Strapper equipment while performing quality checks of the finished goods to produce highest quality cans at the lowest possible costs.

Operate Palletizer and Strapper equipment.* Perform visual check of finished goods.* Remove, damaged and/or suspect finished goods from palletizer and report same to Supervision, Production Line Operator and Quality Inspector.* Utilize proper packaging materials (Chipboard, top frames and pallets)* Verify and place proper pallet tags on finished goods.

* Perform quality checks and maintain documentation.

* Keeps equipment and all areas safe, clean, and organized through proper housekeeping* Follow all required environmental, health and safety procedures* Performs other related duties as required* Must have the ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds on occasion and regularly stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Skills and Qualifications:* 6 months of experience in a manufacturing setting (high-speed manufacturing is preferred).* Exhibit safety and quality as their top priorities* Effective record keeping skills and the ability to focus on details.* Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time.* Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal) working in a team environment.Education:* High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) requiredPhysical Demands:* Must be able to stand continuously for more than 8+ hours per shift.* Must be able to walk, left/carry up to 50 lbs on occasion.* Must be about to stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.* Must be able to twist at the waist and bend repetitively.* This position may also require climbing or balancing.Must be able to work up to twelve (12) hour shifts, both day and evening.As part of our Total Safety Culture, CROWN is committed to the safety, health and well-being of our employees and their families.
