Characteristics: • Be punctual and reliable with a strong commitment to character, integrity, and work ethic • The ability to project confidence and competence while representing clients • The ability and flexibility to produce outstanding results at a modern, rapidly growing firm • Exceptional communication skills • A positive, motivating attitude, meeting or raising the standard of conduct and performance of existing firm members • Desire to focus on exceeding clients' expectations Responsibilities: • Organize legal research in support of motions, hearings, and other legal matters • Maintain case files and additional relevant information in a nicely organized and easily accessible manner • Meet with customers to guarantee excellent service, address basic procedural questions regarding their case, and obtain information about their legal issues • Analyze and maintain an organizational system for discovery and records • Calculate, track, and meet deadlines on all deliverables What You'll Be Doing: • Legal Maestro : Work closely with our attorneys to draft and finalize legal documents, from contracts to pleadings, ensuring everything is pitch-perfect. • Research Guru : Dive into legal and general issues research with enthusiasm, providing valuable insights to support clients and cases. • Client Champion : Be the friendly face and voice that clients trust, building strong relationships and ensuring they feel valued. • Organizational Wizard : Keep our office running smoothly by managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and maintaining our case management systems. • Drafting basic legal documents, pleadings, and discovery and preparing first drafts of legal forms • Filing legal documents, including e-filing, in federal and state courts • Gathering and analyzing research data, such as statutes, opinions, legal articles, codes, and documents • Researching and preparing non-party subpoenas • Organizing exhibits and medical records • Summarizing medical records and deposition transcripts • Maintaining calendars and client files • Prioritizing client-related matters • Corresponding with clients • Handling routine correspondence in your own voice on the attorney's behalf • Keeping attorneys apprised of short-term obligations as well as long-term implications of expedient decisions • Track, capture, and record billable time • Liaise with other team members and departments of our firm • Answer the telephone and route or screen calls • Assisting attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions • Helping with ideas on how to improve processes and efficiencies Qualifications: • To be considered for this position, you must agree to participate in a 20-question written interview that examines your knowledge, abilities, qualifications, habits, and behaviors (including attention to detail, communication skills, and technical legal knowledge) • Previous experience as a paralegal working with clients and attorneys on [[types of cases]] • Prior experience working with office management software: internet, email, word processing, case management, time and billing, legal research, and document management is required • Familiarity using standard office equipment such as a scanner, copier, and printer • Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills and time-management skills • 4 + years of experience in a Paralegal role • Bachelors degree • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Excellent written and verbal skills • Tech savvy with Mac/Apple products, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive, Clio, document management systems, time and billing, and transcription software products, and an interest and ability to quickly learn other technology • Proficiency with local, state, and federal court procedures and documentation plus E-filing • Litigation and trial experience is a plus • Able to operate well under pressure with minimal supervision • You smile when you answer the phone • You possess exceptional attention to detail Compensation: $45,000 - 65,000+ Based on Experience & Benefits
