The ideal candidate will be responsible with assisting with pleadings, discovery and client interviews on various cases at the firm. This detail-orientated candidate should feel comfortable with playing a vital role in supporting attorneys with client contact and case management.
Responsibilities
- Provide efficient legal support from a case's inception through resolution
- Coordinate with clients by keeping organized schedules and providing timely reminders
- Coordinate with medical providers, insurance companies, and other parties to the case
- Request and review medical records
- Conduct client interviews to gather relevant information for cases
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, such as pleadings, motions and discovery
- Maintain case files and document management systems
- Review and analyze documents for discovery purposes
- Work closely with handling attorneys and other staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal certificate preferred, but not required
- Experience as a personal injury paralegal preferred
- Knowledge of Court filing systems such as NYSCEF, PACER and E-law
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast paced, professional and supportive environment
- Bilingual
