Education Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Paralegal / Legal Assistant Skills Required:
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
· Experience with the coordination of logistics for the Direct Referral hearing process
· Ability to work independently on multiple case hearing details
· Proficient with operation of postage meter and process for sending documents by certified mail
· Experience fielding incoming calls, determining the legal subject that the caller is calling about, and routing caller to appropriate attorney or refer to appropriate program area
· Proficient in coordinating service of legal documents
· Experience with processing of invoices for process service companies
· Experience working in the New York State Department of Health, Division of Legal Affairs
· Knowledge of the organizational structure of Department of Health
· Good communication skills both written and verbal
· Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
· Able to maintain an organized work space
· Reliable, efficient, and flexible

Paralegal Duties/Responsibilities:
· Coordination of logistics for the Direct Referral hearing process
