Title: Paralegals and Legal Assistants Location: Albany NY 12207 Duration: 2 yearsDescription Paralegals will work under the direct supervision of an OAH attorney. Paralegals must have knowledge of basic legal processes; legal terminology and legal forms; legal research techniques; ability to read, understand, and interpret laws, legal documents, and other written material Paralegals must: use equipment as required - including, but not limited to, an issued computer and Microsoft Suite software; understand, speak, and write English; raise safety and professional concerns to direct supervisor(s); complete assigned trainings; and develop competency with OAH's proprietary decision drafting software. Paralegal Requirements: Paralegals must:
- Be professional and provide drafted decisions in the timeframe provided.
- Possess paralegal certification.
- Have a minimum of two years of experience providing complex clerical level legal support services to an attorney.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, an understanding of legal language and principles, and strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and agree to non-disclosure agreements maintained by the Contractor and available for inspection.
- Access systems and complete all assignments within the 48 contiguous United States and the District of Columbia.
