ChristianaCare seeks a Paramedic to work as a member of our transport team to work on both our Critical Care Transport Team (Ground) and our ChristianaCare LifeNet (Flight) team. The Transport Paramedic provides advanced and critical care life support to ChristianaCare patients and in need of ground or air transport within our system, to one of our facilities or to another health care system via ambulance transport or via LifeNet.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides advanced life support care from initial contact until the patient is relinquished to the accepting medical facility, maintains detailed patient care documentation.
Assists the transport nurse in providing care for the critically ill and injured patient from contact at referral agencies until care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility, maintains detailed patient care documentation.
Practices within the designated scope of practice as defined by the Board of Medical Practice of the State of Delaware, Christiana Care Health Services, and the Office of Emergency Medical Services Paramedic Standing Orders.
Maintains proficiency in knowledge and psychomotor skills by participating in ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences.
Communicates educational needs to department leadership, maintains skill checklists and continuing education records.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices, reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
Attends staff meetings and critical skill sessions as assigned.
Assists in pre-mission check of vehicle/helicopter and equipment.
Serves as a resource for all staff when transporting specialty patients or to referral agencies and as a role model teacher and clinical resource.
Acts as a liaison for our program by communicating with all agencies that may require our services.
Maintains awareness of current issues and trends in critical care transport.
